Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa di Venezia inaugurates the exhibition Chi sono io? Autoritratti, identità e reputazione (“Who am I? Selfportraits, identity and reputation”) by Maria Livia Brunelli with the collaboration of the publishing house Contrasto, that took care of the namesake book of Concita De Gregorio.
The dialogue between the author and the five female photographers, who contributed to the writing of the book, becomes real and takes the form of an exhibition that consists of fifty photos focused on the self-portrait theme and on the self-representation, but not only: the artists wanted to show some of their recent and inedited photos which were taken with different aesthetic languages.
The self-portrait is the common thread of both the book and the exhibition: it becomes a therapy, a cure that allows women to get rid of the fear of living and to find their own “right dimension” in a photo. It’s about the exploration of the world through the act of introspection in different moments of female histories.
The exhibition takes place at the seat of Fondazione Bevilacqua la Masa in Piazza San Marco and it will remain open until the 3th February. We suggest that our loyal or new client swing by and then have a good meal at Marciana Restaurant.
